The President will inaugurate a Planetarium and Science Centre
New Delhi: 20th April 2026:(PIB Delhi//Odisha Screen Desk)::
The President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu will visit Odisha tomorrow (April 21, 2026). During the day-long visit, the President will inaugurate a Planetarium and Science Centre, and the Nirmal Munda Parivesh Path, at a public function in Rourkela. She will also inaugurate a Tribal Museum and Integrated Command and Control Centre at Rourkela.
Let us remember Nirmal Munda (1893 - 2 January 1973) was an agrarian leader, a freedom fighter and a World War I veteran from the Munda tribe from Bartoli village in the former princely state of Gangpur (now in Sundergarh district, Odisha). He was the leader of the Munda agitation of 1937–39, who organised the tribals of Gangpur to refuse to pay exorbitant taxes and demanded khuntkatti rights.
